BOIL WATER NOTICE RESCINDED
City of Berryville
On January 25, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required the City of Berryville public water system to issue a Boil Water Notice due to system-wide low water pressure.
The City of Berryville has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure throughout the distribution system. Water samples were collected and submitted for bacteriological analysis in accordance with TCEQ requirements. Laboratory results confirm that the water meets all state and federal drinking water standards.
The Boil Water Notice is hereby rescinded effective immediately.
Customers may resume normal use of tap water for drinking, cooking, and all household purposes.
The City of Berryville appreciates the cooperation and patience of its residents during this event.

BOIL WATER NOTICE
Update on Boil Water Notice 1-27-26
Due to weather conditions, the lab we take our samples to is closed. We will try again tomorrow.
We have received formal acknowledgement from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) following our self-reporting of the Boil Water Notice. TCEQ reviewed our actions and confirmed that all protocols have been properly followed and all steps taken to this point are appropriate.
The following steps will be taken to ensure the water is safe for consumption and to lift the Boil Water Notice:
· Water samples will be collected from flush valves throughout the system.
· These samples will be submitted for laboratory testing.
· Sample collection and submission are scheduled for tomorrow.
· Lab results are expected to be available the following day.
· This testing will confirm whether it is safe to rescind the Boil Water Notice.
We anticipate being able to safely lift the Boil Water Notice by Wednesday morning, pending favorable test results. A notification will be published immediately once we receive the all-clear.
Further investigation has identified that the transition from main power to generator power disrupted the activation of the well pump. Additionally, there was a failure of the low-level alarm for the storage tanks. The alarm failure was the direct cause for initiating the Boil Water Notice. Had the alarm system functioned correctly, we would not have experienced low water pressure and could have taken preventive measures to avoid the situation.
We would like to thank Ruben Servin and Dave Groome for their prompt response and effective troubleshooting during this incident.
